Chalmer E. Mabry


Chalmer E. Mabry, 80, of Springfield died Tuesday, October 30, 2007 in his home following a lengthy illness.

He was born November 1, 1926 in Whitman, West Virginia the son of William Pleasie and Beatrice (Gullett) Mabry and was reared in Morehead, Kentucky.

Mr. Mabry served in the United States Army in the Pacific Theater during WWII and has been a Springfield resident since 1950. He worked as a crane operator for Cooper Industries, retiring with 32½ years service.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years Erma Faye (Baker) Mabry; one daughter Carolyn Dean of Dayton; three sons and daughters-in-law Michael E. and Teresa Mabry, Ronnie L. and Debra Mabry, David W. and Cindy Mabry, all of Springfield; two sisters and a brother-in-law Jewell and George Hale of Springfield and Jean Lewis of Morehead, Kentucky; ten grandchildren Michael, Taylor, Christopher, Jonathan, Angela, Kristy, Randy, Angie, Kristie and Randy; thirteen great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son Teddy Ray Mabry.

The family will receive visitors Friday from 5-8 PM. in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM. in the Memorial Home with Pastor Jerry Stinger officiating. Burial will be in Enon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions are requested to Victory Baptist Church, 2691 W. Possum Road, Springfield, Ohio 45506, for the benefit of Pastor Jerry Stinger.
