Betty J. Myers


Betty J. Myers, 87, of Springfield, died Saturday morning, December 1, 2007 in Good Shepherd Village following several months of failing health.

She was born in Springfield on January 24, 1920 the daughter of Harry and Bertha (Varvel) Edwards.

Betty graduated from Springfield High School and served her country as a WAVE in the U.S. Navy during WWII. She worked at Albrecht Hardware for several years. Betty was a member of Story-Hypes United Methodist Church and volunteered at the Animal Welfare League.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Marcus M. Myers; two sisters-in-law, Eloise Studebaker of Fairborn and Vera Myers of Ft. Myers, Florida; a family friend, Pam Waldron of Springfield; two nieces; and four nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Roger Edwards.

Betty's funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor John Hearp officiating.

Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Welfare League, 6330 Willowdale Rd., Springfield, Ohio 45502.
