James Martin Levering


James Marvin Levering, age 77, formerly of South Charleston, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2007, in Community Hospital.

He was born April 18, 1930, to the late Asa C. and Sarah (Tincher) Levering. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Verna M. (Bishop), Levering; six children, James P. (Barb) Levering of West Liberty, OH, Willis A. (Sarah) Levering, William (Ethel) Levering, all of Springfield, OH, Betty (Mike) Starkey of Waverly, OH, Sharon (L.V.) Roark, Cindy Roark and Joe Hatfield, all of Oneida, TN; 13 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren; numerous step grandchildren; brother, Edward Eugene Levering; friend, Cheryl Pence and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by son, Robert L. Levering, daughter, Janie Byrley, and daughter-in-law, Lee Levering.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 9, 2007, from 4-8 pm in the Ingling Williams Funeral Home, South Charleston, where services will be held Thursday, May 10, 2007, at 11 am with Rev. David Hoagland officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
