Pauline V. Kabbes


Pauline V. Kabbes, 85, loving and devoted mother and grandmother, of Springfield, died at 3:30 a.m. Monday, December 24, 2007, in Eaglewood Village Care Center following a brief illness.

She was born March 7, 1922, in Springfield the daughter of Floyd and June (Mayberry) Eakman.

Survivors include her four children and spouses, June and Mike Doyle of Parker, Colorado, R. Michael and Keren Kabbes, Dee Dee Kabbes and Tom Kabbes all of Springfield; 12 grandchildren, Marc, Jason, Anne, David and Steven Kabbes, Hannah Bialke, Sarah Schmidt, Megan Toomey, Emily Shemroske, Colleen Kopay, Ed and Hallie Doyle; five great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Betty Eakman of Springfield; special nephew, Tom LuAllen and several other nieces and nephews.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and retired from Mercy Medical Center after working for 20 years as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

She was preceded in death by her husband Edward in 1962, daughter Patricia Shemroske, three sisters Florence Eakman, Eloise Pyles and Betty LuAllen and two brothers Harold and Waldo Eakman. Pauline was greatly loved by her family and will be sadly missed.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday in CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday in St. Joseph Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Church.
