Garland Samuel King


Garland Samuel King, 83, of South Vienna, passed away November 11, 2008 in IOOF Home of Ohio.

He was born April 25, 1925 in Madison County, the son of Harley and Hazel (Archer) King.

Garland was an avid gardener and was retired from General Motors after thirty years of service. He spent his life doing for others. He will be sadly missed by his many friends and family. He was loved by everyone he met.

Survivors include his son Garland Rae King of South Carolina; three daughters and son-in-law, Karen Sadler, Cindy (Chuck) Lusk and Teresa Taylor all of Springfield; sister, Connie Downing and brother, Ted King both of London; eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, several sisters and a brother.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Friday November 14, 2008 in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., with Pastor Scott Griswold, officiating.

Burial will be in Somerford Cemetery.
