Florence Irene Jones


Florence Irene Jones, 83, formerly of Springfield, died Sunday, June 10, 2007 in Hollywood, Florida where she resided for the past twelve years.

She was born in Dearborn, Michigan on January 14, 1924, the daughter of George Brenton and Margaret Verida (Clingan) Sayre.

Her last employment was with Wittenberg University's Food Management Services.

She is survived by her five children and their spouses, Denny and Barb Pence of Columbus, Donald Pence, with whom she resided in Florida, Diane and John Zugelder of Springfield, V. Duane and Regina Campbell of South Vienna, and Dorene and Rob Carse of Middlebourne, West Virginia; seven grandchildren, Christina Newburn, Robert Rumpke Jr., Melissa Crawford, Molly Campbell, Kelly Campbell, John Carse, and Charles (AC) Carse; four great-grandchildren, Jessica Lyne Newburn and Jacob, Jesse and Josh Ramey; and a sister, Verida (Cy) Mallory of Russells Point, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Curtis G. Jones; a sister, Maxine Senseman; and brothers, Russell Sayer and Charles Sayre.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 3-6 p.m. Sunday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday in the funeral home with Deacon Norm Horstman of St. Raphael Church officiating. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery.
