John P. Houvouras


John P. Houvouras, 91, of Greenville, South Carolina and formerly of Dayton, died at 1:20 a.m. Saturday, December 22, 2007 in Anderson, South Carolina.

He was born October 17, 1916 in Huntington, West Virginia to Peter and Mary (Knee) Houvouras. He was a United States Navy Veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Linda (Parker); six children and spouses, Mary & Steve Caudell, John T. Houvouras of Englewood, Peter & Paula Houvouras, Vandalia, Katherine & Evron Colhoun, Englewood, Athena & William West, Knoxville, Tennessee and Selena & Mike McLeroy, Greenville, South Carolina; seven grandchildren and one sister and spouse, Mary & Al Gootee.

His former wife, Elizabeth and two brothers, Peter and William Houvouras, preceded him in death.

Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday in St. Bernard Catholic Church.
