James Pernell Hass


James Pernell Haas was born April 1, 1965 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Gene and Carol Milder Hass. He graduated from Dewitt Central Community School in Dewitt, Iowa in 1984.

Through the years, Jim held many jobs, including delivering the Clinton Herald newspaper in Grand Mound, Iowa; and driving the school bus for Laidlaw in Indianapolis, Indiana, before moving to Springfield. Jim was also honored to be chosen to drive the charter bus for the Olympics held in Atlanta, Georgia in 1996.

Jim enjoyed playing Santa Claus for the children at Chuck E. Cheese in Springfield.

Jim will be sadly missed by his mother and step father, Carol and John Marshall of Springfield, his father Gene Thomas Hass of Arizona, a sister Laurie (Randy) Miller, of Springfield; a brother Douglas (Tammy) Hass of Dayton, and a stepbrother Chris Marshall of Davenport, Iowa; nieces Amanda Ketelsen, Tiffany Ketelsen, Jessica Miller, Amber Wolfe, Mindy (Joe) Frost, and Samantha Hass; nephews Joshua Ketelsen, Brad Miller, and John Hass; a great niece Kyleigh Frost and a great nephew Mark Wolfe; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his constant companion and beloved dog Angel.

Jim is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Anton and Gladys Williams Milder; paternal grandparents George and Wilhelamena Outzen Hass, several aunts, uncles, cousins, a stepbrother, and a stepsister.

The funeral ceremony will be held at 2pm Wednesday in THE JONES KENNEY ZECHMAN Funeral Home, with visitation held one hour prior to the funeral ceremony. Burial will follow in Lawrenceville Cemetery.
