J. Patrick Garrigan


J. Patrick Garrigan, 76, of Springfield, died at 11:50 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2007 in Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus.

He was born in Springfield, OH on October 20, 1930 the son of Albert and Clara Garrigan. Pat retired in 2004 as president of Garrigan's, Inc. that his father opened in 1939. Pat began working for his father in his early years and began fulltime after graduating from college in 1952. He was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church, Springfield County Club, a 1939 graduate of Catholic Central High School, a 1952 graduate of Xavier University and was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Ileana (Wojciechowski); 3 children, Joseph P. and Julie Garrigan, Springfield, Shawn Garrigan, Laurinburg, NC and Bridget Garrigan, Columbus, OH; 2 grandchildren, Ivy Garrigan and Joseph P. Garrigan, III. His sister, Mary Hearlihy, preceded him in death.

A private Mass will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Catholic Central High School Foundation.
