Evangeline Foster


Evangeline Foster, 90, of Springfield, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 9, 2008.

She was born in Bozeman, MT on May 24, 1917, daughter of Mamie and Benjamin Thomas.

She was Chief Telephone Operator for Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph, Bozeman, MT for 17 years. Evangeline taught piano and organ at her home and at Moeller Music Center, Springfield. She was a Worthy Matron, Norris Chapter No. 426, Ohio Eastern Star Past President, District 18 Ohio Eastern Star, Emera Club, and was a Secretary of Norris Chapter for 14 years. Evangeline was also a member of the Springfield Church of Christ.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Robert M. Foster; 2 daughters, Yvonne Palmer and husband Brian, of England, and Nancy Runyan and husband Jim; twin sister, Edele Darby of Great Falls, MT; grandchildren, Joshua Runyan, Chad Foster, and Charra Uhl; great grandchildren, Zachary Uhl, Johnny Moisan, Aric Foster, and Skylar Roberts; and many nieces and nephews and family in Montana.

She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Charles; brother, James; and sisters, Ruby Huntsman and Ruth Greer.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 12, 2008, from 4-7 PM at JACKSON LYTLE WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME- SPRINGFIELD, with Eastern Star service starting at 6:45 PM. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at 10 AM at the funeral home. Pastor Mike Surgenor officiating. Interment to follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Norris Chapter No. 426, 125 East High St. SPFLD, OH, 45502.
