Bernice E. Fields


Bernice E.(Spahr) Fields, age 85, formerly of South Charleston, passed away Monday, July 14, 2008 in the Memory Lane, Eaglewood Care Center.

She was born May 25, 1923 in Yellow Springs, Ohio to the late Roscoe and Elsie(Bates)Spahr.

Bernice was married March 20, 1943 in Selma, Ohio to Carl L. Fields. She is a former member of the Byron United Church of Christ, Byron's Women's Guild, and the Selma United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Plattsburg United Church of Christ and the Plattsburg Women's Fellowship.

Bernice is survived by her children; Sandy (Dan) Crummie of Portage,MI., David (Tammy) Fields of Lexington, OK., Rita (Jack) Hollingsworth of Springfield, OH., Brenda Picklesimer of Piqua, OH., 11 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 6 step great-grandchildren, sister: Carol (Jim) Hackley of Jamestown, OH; brothers: Kenneth Spahr of Jefferson , OH, Keith (Ellen) Spahr of Springfield, OH; sisters-in-law: Hazel Toops of South Charleston, OH, Jean Purk of Springfield, OH; 12 nieces and nephews.

Bernice is preceded in death by her parents, husband: (Carl) 1992, son (Roger) 1995, brother (Paul) 2005.

Family requests donations be made to Plattsburg United Church of Christ, Cancer Society, or Alzheimer's Assoc. Miami Valley.

Friends may call at the JACKSON LYTLE WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME, 2425 N. Limestone, Springfield OH from 4 to 8pm Friday, July 18, 2008 where services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday July 19, 2008. Burial will follow in Byron Cemetery.
