Della Jane (Woodruff) Erskine


Della Jane (Woodruff) Erskine left this world March 8, 2008 in Mercy Medical Center to meet those who have gone before her.

She was born August 6, 1929 in Wellston, Ohio to Chester George and Mildred (Wilson) Woodruff.

She worked for many years at Hart's Family Center and retired from Sears in 2002. She had many friends and was a former member of the Eagles, Moose, Union and Machinists Clubs.

Della was preceded in death by her husband Earnest Erskine; brother "Woody" Woodruff and her parents.

She leaves to cherish her memory her five children James (Martha) Erskine and Richard (Pam) Erskine of Springfield, George Erskine of Columbus, Ohio, Beth Anoles (and life partner Harold Reynolds) of Richwood, Ohio, and Laura (Kenny) Wheeler of Catawba; her five grandchildren Tiffany( Jamie) Payne, Stephany Ratliff, Jeremy Phillips and Ryan (Natalie) Erskine, all of Springfield, Phillip Wheeler of Catawba and Leigh Ann Erskine of Columbus; nine great grandchildren Brandon, Raven, Andi, Josh, Jeffrey, Jayvin, Cole, Chase and Zach; a sister Dollie DeHaven and niece Dixie (Glen) Davis of Huber Heights; numerous great nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

The family wishes to thank the nursing staff of 4 South for their compassion and a special thanks to neighbors Dick and Corrine Smith and family for all their concern, support and friendship over the years.

Friends may call Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:00 AM. in the Memorial Home. Interment will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Della loved life and her light will continue to shine on in her family and friends.
