Alfred E. Evans


Alfred E. Evans, 87, of Springfield, died at 10:39 a.m. Tuesday, August 05, 2008 in Springfield Regional Medical Center High Street Campus.

He was born April 6, 1921 in Springfield, OH to Harley and Ruth (Ater) Evans.

Alfred was retired from R & M Company after 27 years of service. He was a Life Member and former Post Commander of V.F.W. Post 3660 and was a WW 2 U.S. Army Veteran.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Jeanne R. (Redmond); a son George H. (Carolyn) Evans, Bluffton, SC; a grandson, Edward R. Evans; and a sister, Mary Yoder, Florida.

He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Morene and Ruth Ann.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday in the Conroy Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Johnson officiating. Family will receive friends on hour prior, beginning at 12:00 noon. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Mausoleum.
