Daniel Austin DeWitt

Daniel Austin DeWitt joined his family and friends for a glorious reunion on October 16, 2007 at 11:56 AM.

We who remain will grieve for his passing, but rejoice for him, because he is now enjoying a new pain free body.

Daniel entered this world on July 27, 1931. He was born in Blackfork, Ohio, the youngest son of Kate and Edward DeWitt. He was one of twelve children.

Daniel leaves to cherish his memory one daughter Debra Ann (DeWitt) Roberts and son in law Dwight Kenneth Roberts of St. Paris, Ohio, a grand daughter Sara Elizabeth Roberts and her fiancé Michael Sweetin of Fairfield, Ohio. Daniel is survived by one brother, Charles (Chalk) DeWitt, sister in law Barbara De Witt and brother in law Gerald Meinberg all of Springfield, Ohio.

He has been blessed with a very special group of nieces and nephews, and additional family members of his wife, Helen, who also thought of him as a dad and grandpa. Special appreciation is bestowed on each "angel" who, with compassion and respect, cared for Daniel at Heartland of Urbana-Arcadia Unit.

Daniel was preceded in death by his second wife Helen (Kunkle) DeWitt and her three children: twin sons Donnie and Ronnie and daughter Carol, his mother and father Kate and Edward DeWitt and brothers Edward, Harry, Clifford, Everett, William, Robert and sisters Helen , Mae, Velma and Erma.

Friends and family are invited to share memories of Daniel's life at the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME one hour prior to the services which will be held there on Thursday, October 18 beginning at 2:00 PM. Officiating will be Minister Michael Stewart from the First Christian Church of Urbana. Internment will follow at Rose Hill Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Heartland of Urbana-Arcadia Unit Activities.
