Charlene Y. (Dee Dee) D'Arrigo


Charlene Y. (Dee Dee) D'Arrigo, 46, of Springfield, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her loving family Thursday evening, October 18, 2007. She was born in Norfolk, Virginia on December 3, 1960 the daughter of Dr. Henry and Ardeth L. (Loughlin) Diederichs.

Dee Dee was an All-American swimmer both in high school and college. Her interest in health and fitness was exemplary. She was an entrepreneur with many varied interests including The Body Shape Up Company with Jan Wineberg, landscaping, and interior design. She also coached swimming and soccer. Though her interests were varied, her greatest accomplishments and passion were her husband and four wonderful children. She approached motherhood and homemaking as a profession. Her compassion and love for this role will live on through her family.

Survivors include her parents of Springfield; husband, Dan; four children, Audrey, Danielle, Peter Anthony, and Stephanie, all of Springfield; two sisters, Siri Guru Nam Kaur Khalsa (Sidi Didar) Singh of New Mexico and Katrina Diederichs of New Hampshire; and two brothers, Mark (Karen) Diederichs of Michigan and Eric (Anna) Diederichs of Cincinnati. Also surviving is an aunt, Dorothy Griffith of Fairborn; sixteen nieces and nephews; her extended D'Arrigo family; many dear friends; and Meggz, her devoted Weimaraner.

At this time, services will be held at the convenience of the family. A celebration of Dee Dee's life will be held around her birthday of December 3rd , with a time and place to be announced.
