Lillian M. Cooke


Lillian M. Cooke, 87, of Springfield, died at 9:58 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2008 in Ridgewood Nursing Home surrounded by her family.

She was born August 27, 1920 in Clark County, OH the fourth child of Steven and Maud (Wike) Fisher.

She was employed at the Crowell-Collier Publishing Company and retired from Mercy Medical Center having worked in the dietary department. Lillian was a life long member of Central United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her children, Pam (Mike) Smith, Kenny (Debbie) Cooke, Becky Young and Doug Cooke; grandchildren, Jeff (Vickie) Smith, Terri (Shawn) Gess, Brian (Carla) Smith, Gregg (Evone) Cooke and Brent Cooke; great grandchildren, Morgan, Marisa, Nathan and Lily Smith, Kelsey, Kaitlyn and Ryan Gess; a brother, Lloyd Fisher, Toledo, OH; brothers in law and sisters in law, Norman Cooke, Ellis and Jean Cooke, Marlin Cooke, John and Marianna Shingler, Lloyd and Christine Cooke and Marvin Kennedy all of Springfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, who she married on June 6, 1947, son in law, Ed Young, 2 sisters, Loretta Marie Davis and Leah Maud Cooke and 2 brothers, Leslie and Lincoln Cooke.

Friends may call in the Conroy Funeral Home from 4 to7 p.m. Thursday. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with Pastor R.C. McDonald of Crossroad Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Ridgewood Nursing Home for the care given to their mother.
