Lee W. Chaney


Lee W. Chaney, Sr., 86, of South Charleston, passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2008.

He was born on September 14, 1921, son of Burch and Alma Chaney.

Lee ran the Chaney Orchard for the last 50 years and was a well known and respected man of the community.

He is survived by his 3 children, Lee W. Chaney Jr. and wife Carol, John A. Chaney and wife Julia, and Barbara Garrety and husband Michael; 6 grandchildren, Michael Chaney, Russell Chaney, Zachary Chaney, Michelle Chaney, Brian Garrety and Jennifer Fox; 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 50 years, Mae Eichelman Chaney; and brother, Burch Chaney.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 3,2008 from 5-8 PM with funeral service Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at 10:30 AM at INGLING WILLIAMS Funeral Home - South Charleston. Pastor Walter Mock officiating. Interment to follow at Fletcher Chapel.
