Herbert Collins, Jr.


Herbert Collins, Jr., 59, of Tacoma, Washington and formerly of Springfield, departed this life Sunday, August 3, 2008 in Tacoma.

He was born May 7, 1949 in Springfield, Ohio a son of Herbert, Sr. and Lora (Woods) Collins.

Mr. Collins had been a member of the Second Missionary Baptist Church in Springfield and served his country in the U.S. Army.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Ann Collins, a son, Herbert Collins and a daughter, Lori Collins all of Tacoma; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Harold and Sherri Collins of Cleveland, Ohio and Harvey Collins of Tacoma; two sisters, Cynthia Singleton of Springfield and Cheryl Collins of North Carolina, two aunts and an uncle, Betty and Louis Copeland of Ravanna, Ohio and Sue Allen of Springfield, Ohio; a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday in the funeral home with Pastor Bruce L. Jones officiating. Funeral arrangements are by the Robert C. Henry Funeral Home.
