Florence Craft


Florence (Meade) Craft, 85, of Springfield was born on April 12, 1923 in Millstone, Ky. She passed away peacefully in her home on August 11, 2008 at 8:10 PM.

Florence was the oldest daughter of Ballard and Nannie (Wright) Meade. Florence married Archie Craft, September 29, 1939 for a total of 62 blissful years. When Florence was 16 years old she felt a need for a Savior. In 1940 she joined the Old Regular Baptist Faith and was baptized and became a member of the Elizabeth Old Regular Baptist Church in Millstone, Ky, where she remained a faithful member until her death. Florence was a teacher in the Day Care Nursery at Mercy Medical Center for more than 22 years. Florence and Archie were blessed with one child Aundra Jane "Janie" McGraw, whom they loved and cherished.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Jesse, Newt, Daniel, George Delmer, and Ballard, Jr.; and sister Norma Campbell.

Survivors include her daughter Aundra and her husband Bob McGraw; granddaughter Lisa and Parker Bailey; grandsons William and Christina, Joseph and Bridgette and Timothy; great grandchildren Brittney, Elizabeth, Rebecca, Thad, and Casey; great-great granddaughter Audrey Annah; two sisters Avalene Hayes McCrone of Bellville, Ohio, and Eldridge Anne and her husband Dave Muncy of Morehead, Ky; one sister in law Winifred Meade of Neon, Ky; several nieces and nephews.

Services will be Friday, August 15, 2008 at 1:00 PM in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME with Pastor Wade Muncy officiating. Family and friends may call two hours prior to services. Burial to follow in Asbury Cemetery, Catawba.
