David W. Cole


David W. Cole, 85, of Springfield, formerly of Pennsylvania, passed away on Saturday morning, December 22, 2007.

He was born on December 25, 1921 in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania the son of Daniel K. and Rose V. (Dooley) Cole. He served our country in the United States Army during World War II.

Mr. Cole is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Alice M. (Hobel) Cole of Springfield, son and daughter-in-law. David G. and Judy Cole of Allentown, Pennsylvania, daughter and son-in-law, Donna (Cole) and Richard Dolbeer of Springfield, sister, Esther Hoffman of Grove City, six grandchildren and their spouses: Cathie and Greg Lawson, Dave and Jen Cole, Greg and Julie Cole, Chad and Ellen Day Hennon, Cheryl and Andy Koelsch, and Julie and Chris Clevenger; and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and one sister.

Services will be held at a later date in Pennsylvania. Memorial contributions may be made to the Slippery Rock Presbyterian Church, 2258 Slippery Rock Dr., Ellwood City, Pennsylvania 16117. The family is being served by the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME.
