Dennis A. Chaffin


Dennis A. Chaffin, 56, of Springfield went home to be with the Lord on Thursday morning, December 20, 2007 with his dear family by his side.

He was born January 16, 1951 the son of William A. and Daisy (Foulke) Chaffin.

Dennis was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps and served our country proudly during the Vietnam War. He worked as a delivery specialist at Office Max and was also a very well known auction dealer in the area. He enjoyed playing golf and bowling and will always be remembered by his beloved family as a very loving and caring husband, dad, brother and grandpa. He will be sadly missed by his family and everyone who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his loving wife of 25 years, Candy (Niday) Chaffin of Springfield; two daughters and son-in-law, Brandy and Zach Mounts of Springfield and Michelle Cheesebrew of Michigan; two sons and daughter-in-law, Dennis II and Amy Chaffin of Springfield and Matthew Chaffin of Springfield; one sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Carl Myers of Enon, Ohio; one brother and sister-in-law, William and Sharon Chaffin of Springfield; eight grandchildren, Travis Thompson, Ashley Cheesebrew, Ivy Taylor Chaffin, Zach II and Jake Mounts, Trey and Tanner Chaffin and Zaya Acord; one great grandson, Christopher Cheesebrew and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Joan (Lookabaugh) Miller and Patty Parks and one nephew, Buddy Myers.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, December 23, 2007 from 2-5 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be on Monday at 9 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Mike Berry officiating. Burial will follow in the Ferncliff Cemetery with military honors.
