Alfred Michael Cirak


ALFRED MICHAEL CIRAK, 88, of Springfield, Ohio, died Friday afternoon, May 18, 2007 in Mercy Medical Center. He was born in East Norriton, Pennsylvania on May 27, 1918 the son of Alfred J. and Pauline (Thinschmidt) Cirak.

Al retired after 28½ years at Westinghouse in Columbus, Ohio. He was currently a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Springfield.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Elizabeth Hay Cirak; a son and daughter-in-law, Gene and Jean Cirak of Daniels, West Virginia; a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Carlton Mason of Urbana, Ohio; five grandchildren, Jennifer Massara of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Peter Michael (Erika) Cirak of North Andover, Massachusetts and their mother, Nancy Cirak of Tampa, Florida, John Michael Mason of Westerville, Ohio, Mary Elizabeth Mason of Columbus, and C. Benjamin Mason of Urbana; and two great grandsons, Joshua and Jonathon Massara of Colorado Springs. Also surviving is a sister, Kathryn (John) Roach of Norristown, Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Bernice Wurtz.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday in Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1801 St. Paris Pike, Springfield with Pastor Beverly M. DeBord officiating. Following the memorial service, the family will receive friends in the fellowship hall of the church.

The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church.
