Robert Alexander, Sr.


Robert Alexander, Sr., 73, of South Vienna, Ohio went to be with the Lord on November 12, 2007 at Maria Joseph Care Center in Dayton, Ohio, after a long illness.

"Bob" was born on April 8, 1934 to Brack & Samantha Alexander in Richmond, Kentucky.

He was an avid skydiver with over 1800 jumps. He was a retired Teamster with Local 957. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #286, New Carlisle, the V.F.W. 6560, Dayton, and the AmVets Local 24, Dayton, Ohio. He was a member of the Cardinal Motorcycle Club and he was a veteran of the Korean Conflict.

"Bob" was preceded in death by his parents, and a grandson, Robert Alexander III.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Devona Ruth Alexander; a daughter, Marsha Glaser and her husband Kerry Glaser of Cheyenne, Wyoming; a son, Robert Alexander, Jr. and his wife Jody Alexander; a daughter, Elura Ford and her husband, Steve Ford all of New Carlisle; grandchildren, Brad, Alisha, Rob, Kyle, Donnie, Kristy and great granddaughter, "Miss Emm". He is also survived by a brother, Edward "Bo" Alexander and a sister, Barbara Bennett; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family would like to thank the Maria Joseph Care Center for the love and care he received.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday November 15, 2007 at the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle, Ohio. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
