Mark Thurman Abbott


Mark Thurman Abbott, 48, formerly of Springfield, Ohio, died unexpectedly on July 25, 2009 in Dayton, Ohio. He was born April 2, 1961 the son of Cleveland and Mildred Abbott.

He was preceded in death by his father, Cleveland Abbott, Elizabeth A. Rice, his grandmother and Betty Jordan, his aunt.

He served in the United State Army. He was a member of New Fair Street Christian Church.

He is survived by his mother, Mildred Abbott, Springfield, Ohio. He is also survived by his two brothers, Gregory (Roberta) Abbott, and Eric Abbott, Columbus, Ohio, three sisters, Anita and Karen Abbott, both of Springfield, Ohio and Vivian (Eric) Bruce of Columbus, Ohio. Three nieces, Moncada Abbott, Ashley Woods, and Malika Cobb. He is also survived by his cousins, Vicki (Crossley) Jordan of Springfield, Damon Jordan of Columbus, Ohio and Steven Jordan, Sandra M. Rice, Springfield, Ohio, Bernice (Andrew) Whitehead and Pamela (Jerome) Johnson both of Warner Robbins, GA, Lee and Phillip Rice of Highland, MI and a host of other cousins and a dear and special friend Wilbert Miller, Chicago, Illinois.

View will be held at 9 a.m. with the family present at 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. in the Fair Street Christian Church, 705 Linden Avenue, Springfield with Eric T. Bruce, Mt. Vernon AME Church, Columbus officiating. Interment will be at the VA Cemetery, Dayton, Ohio. Arrangements by Porter-Qualls Funeral Home, 825 S. Yellow Springs St, Springfield, Ohio.
