Kenneth M. Alden


Kenneth M. Alden, 88, of Springfield, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2008.

He was born on July 24, 1919 the son of the late Jesse A. and Edna B. (Darding) Alden in Springfield, Ohio.

Kenneth served proudly in the US Navy during WWII; Pearl Harbor and the last engagement at Okinawa were two of the many conflicts he was involved in. He retired as a general foreman from Wright Patt Air Force Base after thirty-three years of service. He was a member of the Fifth Lutheran Church, the St. Andrews Masonic Lodge #619, the High 12 Club #429, the Alden Kindred of America, and an avid Square Dancer.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents. His survivors include his wife of 61 years, Elaine (Judy) Alden; three sons, John (Darlene) Alden of Erlanger, KY, Bruce (Peggy) Alden of Springfield, OH, Kevin (Kim) Alden of Springfield, OH; six grandchildren, Jarred (Sarah) Alden, Preston (Tiffany) Alden, Heather(Dr. Bradley) Alden-Eilerman, Brian Alden, Amber Alden and Brandon Alden; four great-grandchildren, Bayler Alden, Kaleb Alden, Emerson Alden and Rylee Eilerman; numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2008 at 1:00 PM, at the Fifth Lutheran Church, 1331 East High St., Springfield, OH with Pastor Carol Gesalman officiating. There will be a gathering of family and friends in the church one hour prior to the service.

Burial to follow at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Fifth Lutheran Church.
