James Edward Adams


James Edward Adams, 67, passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 16, 2008 in Shelton, Washington where he resided for the last three years.

Jim was born September 1, 1941 in Springfield, Ohio, the son of George and Nellie (Penwell) Adams.

Jim attended schools in the Springfield area and graduating from Northwestern High School where he was a true "Warrior". He enlisting in the United States Army where he became a member of an Engineering Battalion; where he discharged duties as a Diesel Mechanic and a heavy equipment operator for nearly 20 years. Jim enjoyed the ocean, all animals, walking his dog Bandit on the beach, fishing, racing and working on cars and motorcycles. He was active for many years in the Lions Club International and also the Combat Vietnam Veterans. Jim loved to help everyone and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his mother, Nellie (Penwell) Brown of Springfield, OH; spouse, Lee of Walla Walla, WA; son, Gerry Edward Adams of Auburn, WA; daughters, Dee Dee (Larry) Miles of Westport, WA, Sandra (Vance) Coble of Virginia Beach, VA; brother, Charles (Susie) Brown of Springfield, OH; sister, Jerry Lou (Jack) Kaffenbarger of Springfield, OH; nine grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Adams; stepfather, Jim Brown and sister, Kathy Hayslip.

Jim will be laid to rest in the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in Tahoma National Cemetery, Kent, Washington.

Family is being served by the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME.
