Howard E. Anderson


Howard E. Anderson, 82, of Springfield, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, May 9, 2008.

He was born on March 14, 1926, son of Elden Edmond and Bertha Marie (Stephens) Anderson.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Gladys Mae Anderson; 3 sons, Stephen E. (Judy) Anderson, Ronald E. (Marcia) Anderson, and Richard A. (Theresa) Anderson; grandchildren, Tracie (Greg) Ison, Jason Anderson, Kari Anderson, Kristin Anderson, Joel Anderson, Jessica Anderson, Capt. James (Connie) Candelora, Michael and Dr. Jessica Kettel, and Jesse and Nicole Norman; great- grandchildren, Ashley, Taylor, and Ganon Ison, David and Daniel Kettel, and Reise and Rylie Anderson; 3 sisters, Alice Copeland of Beatty, OH, Orilla Snyder of Springfield, and Lenore Wegner of Springfield; and 2 brothers, Herman Anderson of Mechanicsburg, OH, and Norman Anderson of Springfield.

He is preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, Hazel Evans and Opal Knox; and 1 brother, Thurman Anderson.

Howard was a life long member of Central United Methodist Church and retired from International Harvester after 37 years. He was a member of UAW 402 and VFW Post 8673. Howard was a veteran in the United States Army and served in the Pacific during WWII. He enjoyed bowling at Northridge Bowling Alley and will be missed by all.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 11, 2008, from 4-6 PM at JACKSON LYTLE WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME- SPRINGFIELD, with funeral service on Monday, May 12, 2008 at 10 AM at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
