Helen E. "Perky" Aleshire, 86, of Springfield, died at 4:58 p.m. Sunday, May 4, 2008 in the Springfield Regional Hospital Fountain Campus following a brief illness.

She was born May 31, 1921 in Springfield, OH to John H. and Alice E. (Allender) Moore.

Helen was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church and the C.L. of C. #56. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters and spouses, Diane and Roy Johnson and Denise and Gary Turner; a son in law, Kenneth Smith; beloved grandsons, Chad (Erin) Johnson, Phoenix, AZ, Jeremy (Cary) Johnson, Yellow Springs, OH, Travis (Amy) Johnson, Jody Smith, Shane (Brandi) Smith, Josh (Misty) Turner, Springfield, Zach Turner, Cleveland, OH, Ben Turner, Springfield; great grandchildren, Ryan, Maura, Kylie, Caden and Jack Johnson, Katelyn and Jacob Smith, Taylor, Tanner, Tarren and Landon Turner; a sister, Rita Beard; aunt, Ginnie Rockwell; special friend, Helen Curry; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Aleshire, daughter, Debbie Smith, sisters, Jerri Powell, Nancy Shook and Sue Tehan and sister in law, Marge Johnson.

Friends may call in the Conroy Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday in St. Bernard Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to St. Bernard Church.
