Franklin W. Aleshire


Franklin W. Aleshire, 79, a lifetime resident of Springfield passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2008 in his home following a lengthy illness.

He was born November 25, 1928 in Springfield the son of Leonard C. and Lela (Howell) Aleshire.

Mr. Aleshire served in the United States Air Force in the Korean War, and was the Owner-operator of A & B Asphalt and Tar Inc. for 30 years. He as a member of Anthony Lodge 455, F & AM, the Springfield Shrine Club and was longtime member of Northwood Hills Country Club, where he was an avid golfer.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years Jean (Leary) Aleshire; two sons Len Aleshire of Springfield and Larry Aleshire (fiancé June Packwood) of Aurora, Indiana; one daughter Jane Aleshire (John Bolle) of Springfield; one sister and brother-in-law Rebecca and Jim Reid of Las Vegas, Nevada; three grandchildren and spouses Larry ( Missy) Aleshire of Washington Court House, Ohio, Betsy (Cameron) Robinson of New York City, and Melissa Aleshire of Springfield; four great grandchildren Jeffrey and Dusty Wilson, Libby Aleshire and Jackson Kaffenbarger; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother James C. "Calvin" Aleshire.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery. The family is being served by the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME.
