Edward C. "Eddie" Allen


Edward C. "Eddie" Allen, 89, born April 15, 1918 and died June 14, 2007.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joanne, a brother-in-law, Edward Koepnick and his wife, Betty, four nephews, Mark and his wife, Diane, Matthew and his wife, Tammy, James and his wife Sandie, John and one niece, Marcia and her husband, Orva, two great-nieces, Deborah and Amber, eight great-nephews, Kenny, Jimmy and his wife, Natalie, Ryan and his wife Emily, Aaron, Clint, Rex, Joshua and Alan and two great-great nieces, Mercedes and Alyssa.

He was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church and prior to that, Mary, Help of Christians in Fairborn where he served as lector/commentator, sang in the choir and did all of the church printing. He was a long-time member and the very heart of the Springfield Health and Fitness Center (formerly CPRC at the Heart House).

He was born in Brooklyn, New York, served in the Air Force during World War II and worked as a lithographic offset pressman at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base until his retirement in 1975. He brought tremendous joy to all of those whose life he touched. He was strength for many and laughter to everyone who shared his light.

Friends may call from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Teresa Catholic Church with cremation to follow. The family requests that memorial donations be made in Eddie's name to: Springfield Health and Fitness Center, 14 East Main Street, Springfield, Ohio 45502.
