Douglas E. Arnold


Douglas E. Arnold, 54, of Springfield, died at 10:25 p.m. Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at The James Cancer Center, Columbus, OH. He was born November 13, 1954 in Springfield to Dewey S. and Shirley A. (Williams) Arnold.

He had been employed as a Controller for R.D. Holder Oil Co., Inc. Prior to that, he was self-employed as a CPA serving the Springfield area and was formerly with Arnold Stuckey & Co. He was an avid racquetball player, golfer and enjoyed the OSU Buckeyes. He was a former board member of the American Red Cross and a former member of the Jaycees.

Survivors include his wife, Judy A. (Steinmetz); two sons and spouse, Chris (Jennifer) Arnold and Matthew Arnold, all of Springfield; four grandchildren whom he adored very much, Zachary, Noah, Jonah and Nicholas; two brothers, Gary S. Arnold, Fairborn and Greg A. Arnold, Newport News, Virginia; father-in-law; Richard (Ginny) Steinmetz; two sisters-in-law Joyce (Joel) Swords and Shelley Townsend; two brothers-in-law, Jeff (Cheryl) Steinmetz and Robert (Tonya) Steinmetz; numerous nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.

Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Friday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home with Rev. Fr. Terry Schneider officiating. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
