Dorothy I. Adams


Dorothy I. Adams, 94 of Springfield died Saturday, August 30, 2008 in the Forest Glen Health Campus. She was born in Springfield, Ohio on October 24, 1913, the daughter of Gus C. and Beulah C. (Keifer) Wendt.

Dorothy was a longtime member of St. John's Lutheran Church, where she was involved in the Outreach Center. She also volunteered at Project Woman, especially the crisis hotline, where she received the Woman of the Year award. Her other enjoyment was with the Mothers Club at Town and Country. Dorothy retired from WPAFB as a printer with many years of service.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Charles E. Adams; daughter Cheryl Ann Adams; brother Robert E. Wendt.

She has left to cherish her memory, one daughter Carol Metz of Xenia; two sons and daughters in law Chuck and Jane Adams of Donnelsville and Chris and Loretta Adams of London; one sister Normagene Lambert of Lakewood, CA.; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday from 5-8 PM in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. A Celebration of Dorothy's life will be Friday at 11:00 AM in the memorial home with retired US Navy Chaplain, Pastor Bill Perry officiating. Burial to follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.

Her family wishes to thank the caregivers at Forest Glen Health Campus for their loving care given to their mother. Memorial contributions are requested to the St. John's Lutheran Church or to Project Woman.
