Betty Jane Austin


Betty Jane Austin, 81, of Terre Haute, IN formerly of Springfield died Friday, May 9, 2008 in Bethesda Gardens Assisted Living.

She was born in Springfield, Ohio on August 16, 1926, the daughter of Cecil L. and Hazel Lillian (Mason) Bowser.

Betty was a member of the Clifton Ave Church of God and the Women of the Moose Lodge, Springfield.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Arthur Woodrow Austin; two brothers Ralph and Harold Bowser.

Her survivors include one daughter and son in law Linda Sue and Sam Borden of Terre Haute, IN; two sons and daughter in laws, Roland Lee L. and Patti Austin of Bradenton, Fl, Mark Andrew and Cindy Austin of Springfield; one brother Robert Bowser of Springfield; one brother in law Robert Austin and wife Nina; sisters in law Joyce Bowser of Springfield, Peggy Bowser of Sabastian, FL, Hazel Austin of Sheffield, Ohio; ten grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends Mason Dunn of Springfield and Virginia House of Terre Haute.

A gathering of family and friends will be Monday from 5-8 PM in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. A celebration of Betty's life will be Tuesday at 10:00AM in the memorial home. Burial to follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Following the committal service a time of fellowship will be held at the Moose Lodge on Selma Road. Memorial contributions are requested to the American Diabetes Association.
